Prince Georg Friedrich and Prince Christian Ludwig visited Rheinsberg Palace at the invitation of Ulrike Liedtke, President of the Brandenburg State Parliament.<\/p>\n
Following a joint visit to the grave of Prince Heinrich and a private conversation, they attended a performance of Andr\u00e9-Modeste Gr\u00e9try\u2019s opera *Bluebeard* in the palace courtyard. The President of the State Parliament herself introduced the work to the audience at the opening.<\/p>\n
A special moment of the evening was the solar eclipse that commenced during the performance \u2013 at precisely the moment when the action on stage also took a dark turn.<\/p>\n
The visit also echoed an earlier connection: Prince Louis Ferdinand, himself a composer and grandfather of Prince Georg Friedrich and Prince Christian Ludwig, had first visited Rheinsberg Castle (then still a building site) in 1993. He, too, met Ulrike Liedtke there. Shortly after German reunification, the musicologist had founded the first music academy in the eastern German states in Rheinsberg, thereby leaving a lasting mark on the town\u2019s cultural development.<\/p>\n
The palace, which had been used as a clinic during the GDR era and had suffered considerable damage to its structure, now once again forms, together with the park and lake, an extraordinary backdrop, particularly for the arts and music.<\/p>\n
