To mark the 27th CTS Ladies Open, Princess Sophie welcomed the players, together with organisers and volunteers from the international tennis tournament, to Hohenzollern Castle.
\nGuests from Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan and Korea, among other countries, came together on the red carpet in the castle courtyard. They were joined by Barbara Rittner, who served as Germany\u2019s national coach for many years.<\/p>\n
Princess Sophie, herself a regular tennis player, paid tribute to the players\u2019 remarkable discipline, concentration and stamina. In her welcome address, she also noted that an international tournament is shaped not only by the results on the court, but equally by encounters that bring together people from different countries and cultures.<\/p>\n
This was the first time the reception had been held, following the 75th anniversary of the Hechingen Tennis Club. Last year, the CTS Ladies Open was once again named Germany\u2019s best international tournament by the German Tennis Federation.<\/p>\n
