They were joined by Barbara Rittner, who served as Germany\u2019s national coach for many years.<\/p>\n<p>Princess Sophie, herself a regular tennis player, paid tribute to the players\u2019 remarkable discipline, concentration and stamina. In her welcome address, she also noted that an international tournament is shaped not only by the results on the court, but equally by encounters that bring together people from different countries and cultures.<\/p>\n<p>This was the first time the reception had been held, following the 75th anniversary of the Hechingen Tennis Club.
